In India you can pay for Google Ads with cards, including RuPay, and through NetBanking — which requires INR; online card payments go through enhanced security checks. Google charges 18% GST — if Google India issues the invoice, it’s CGST 9% + SGST 9% or IGST 18%, and 0% for SEZ residents. TDS on advertising payments to Google India is 2% excluding GST. Financial services need verification by Google. For advertising in foreign markets and paying in USD or USDT, an agency account is more convenient.
How to pay Google directly
| Method | Conditions per Google’s help center |
|---|---|
| Bank cards, including RuPay | Online card payments go through enhanced security checks |
| NetBanking | Through Google’s payment partner, INR currency |
Enhanced card security is a common reason for declined automatic payments. If the bank declines a charge, the reason is shown in your billing summary. Details in “Bank declines Google Ads payments”.
GST and TDS
| Who issues the invoice | Tax |
|---|---|
| Google Asia Pacific | 18% GST unless a valid GSTIN is provided |
| Google India Private Limited | CGST 9% + SGST 9% within Haryana or IGST 18% otherwise; 0% for SEZ residents |
TDS on advertising payments to Google India Private Limited is 2% excluding GST.
The 2% Regulatory Operating Cost on ads served in India no longer applies since September 1, 2024.
Financial services
India is on the list of countries where Google requires Financial Services Verification. If you advertise financial products, you need a license and verification before launch. Details in our article on regulated niches.
Account currency
Currency is set permanently. NetBanking requires INR. For apps, SaaS and export with a dollar budget across many countries, accounts in USD are easier — one per market.
When an agency account is more convenient
- You advertise a product in the US, Europe and other markets and count your budget in dollars.
- Cards get declined because of enhanced security or limits on international payments.
- You need to pay by bank transfer against an invoice or in USDT and want accounts for many countries in one structure.
In an agency account Google bills the agency, and you top up your balance with the agency. The tax consequences of paying abroad depend on Indian law — check them with your accountant.
How to start with Gads
- Submit a request: client type, budget, what you advertise, Telegram or WhatsApp.
- We confirm that the GEOs and currency you need are available before you pay.
- Review takes up to an hour after sign-up, then accounts are issued instantly.
- Top up by bank transfer or in USDT and split the balance across accounts in the dashboard.
The price is only a percentage of actual ad spend: 3% on the first $50,000 a month, 2% on the part up to $150,000 and 1% above. Details on the pricing page. For apps, see the Apps and games page.
